Praise the Puke and Pass the Papertowels

Ondrea has become a very special friend and special angel to me. Recently, she sent me an email reminding me to find the blessing in each event in our lives, and to thank God for everything. Now, we all know there is so much to be abundantly grateful for, but let’s face it, who wants to thank God when their son barfs all over them for the third time that day?

In true fashion to the two of us, we turned it into an opportunity to laugh. In spite of my irreverent intentions, in the end, we couldn’t help but find ourselves lifted up and grateful to God.

So, yes Aidan threw up all over me once again. And, it took great strength not to throw up all over him right back. But, I am grateful that I could afford the food for my son to toss all over me. I am grateful that he is in my life. I am grateful that barf is the worst of the health issues we have to worry about. I am grateful that we had plenty of paper towels. I am grateful that Ian happened to be near by and was quick to help. I am grateful for plastic bags. I am grateful for Fabreeze. I am grateful beyond measure for my washing machine!

And, I am especially grateful for Ondrea who reminded me to be grateful.

Dear God, may I always remember to count my blessings. First, among them friends and family who offer abundant support, mentorship and love.

I am grateful for the journey to adoption. It has been a blessing meeting so many new friends and learning so much more about childhood development. I look forward to finding the blessings in Ariana’s barf one day.

LOL!! I'll have to remember this post the first time Ilya pukes all over me & initiates me into mommiehood! Thanks to you & Ondrea for making what could have been a very stressful situation into one we can all laugh at and be grateful for!
