Hugs and Love

It seemed like a long time coming, but it did come. So, to everyone out there who gets to wait for your child to really hug you, it will happen. Hang in there. I can't pin point the exact moment anymore. I meant to blog about it, like so many things. But, one thing is for sure. I now get big "I love and adore you" hugs. Something shifted. She doesn't just tolerate me or want to manipulate and control me, she also loves me in the way she can love right now. She is willing to hug and lay her head on my shoulder, rather than lean back. She will let me rock her standing up and she has fallen asleep in my arms. She has learned to take comfort in my arms and that has meant the world to me.

Adele came by today to spoil Ariana. She brought the funniest little pig we have ever seen. you press his hand and it snores and wiggles. At one point it talks in its sleep about wanting a bowl of slop. Ana is carrying it everywhere and I have to wonder what people are going to think as we stroll through a store with this random noise coming from our cart. Well, it won't be the first time people stared.

Miss Ariana is napping so instead of doing what I should (clean house) I am going to nap for a few minutes too. Naps are the best!

This is my Thankful Thursday. I am thankful the election is over. I am thankful my TV is finally free of all those advertisements and we can go back to focusing on what is really important, like Brittney's latest meltdown and Brangelina's family life. Isn't it nice to have our priorities back where they belong?

Michelle,

That is so precious! It is awesome to hear about your sweet baby girls progress. You are such an amazing mom and her love for you will continue to grow. Who wouldn't love you?? :)

Karen's right, will you be my mamma? :)

I am so happy to hear this story... in our five second bursts of conversation, I missed this.

You need to start a blog carnival called Thankful Thursday, I love that idea... in your spare time, why don't you e-mail MckMamma and ask her how to do it! :)
