Well, my 13 year old "ran away" last night (ok to Max's garage- which not only is warm in 32 degree weather, but also has a TV and a barcka lounger)all because I took away his phone until his homework was finished. (And we thought Ariana would be the drama queen). I still have to go see if he finished the paper that he had something like a month to write. Honestly, we all knew it was a two hour delay tactic. Where is the state that you can legally drop off a teenager at a 'safe spot'?? Hmmm... come to think of it, Do they take grown ups? Just to ease any tension that may exist out there, I talked to 3 friends during my short stint as a mom of 3 and laughed the whole time. He was calling me on his cell phone making demands for his return (ie. he got to keep the cell phone) so I knew he wanted to come home. He is such a frat boy in the making.
In Ariana land, we have been forgetting to do all of our brain therapy activities. So, today I start again with renewed energy. She is supposed to belly crawl for a total of 20 minutes a day and crawl on her knees for 20 minutes. She can't belly crawl at all. You think I am joking because she walks, but I am not. She was in a hospital tub and never did it. Now, she can't do it at all and so her knees knock together, her feet turn in, her arches are flat and her hips are so weak she can't help hang on when she is on my hip. Get down and try to belly crawl on the floor and see all the muscles that get developed over those early infancy months! The ratty thing is, all this is tied into the attachment part of the brain (and the "I feel pain" part, and the "I am hungry" part and the "I am hot/cold" part) which she didn't have when we got her. Now, with belly crawling and coaching her that she is hurt/hot/cold/hungry.. we are helping to open up that part of the brain again. We are also supposed to be twirling and swinging for vestibular activities and doing 3 movements from the womb.
Aidan is in a stage that he doesn't want to go to school. He wants to stay home with me. I am torn. Right now I am sending him because I think Ariana has always been one of many and it is good that she is solo during the day. I keep telling myself the holiday break is coming for him. BTW, last night when Corbin left, Aidan went after him and wanted to go. Poor Corbin. Aidan came back home with cold feet, got dressed in a hat, coat, warm shoes and socks and was so upset that Corbin was no where in sight. So, he got my phone and called Corbin and told him to come and get him! Corbin spent most of the night hugging on Aidan and trying to make it up to his 3 year old brother.
Collin is finished a week ahead of time with his science fair and still tethered to his x box. It is so wild that all his friends from school are scattered all over Tampa and they can play and talk together on the xbox. Things are certainly different today. He actually turned down the chance to see Twilight. He wants to read the book. I actually agree with him.
And me, I went shopping. And, my first budget dent this month is good so far. Ok, $20 at the register, but hey it is a start. Actually, I am doing so well I will post more about it later. I have learned A LOT.
Ian is in Philadelphia, I think. The man is a consultant so who knows what state he is in. All I know is that he is talking about Hawaii in 2 weeks and I need a volunteer to babysit, because I want to go. Actually, I really don't. This is a really bad time of year to toss in a week away like that. I need all the hours I can get. Have I said yet that my husband is converting (without me) to Catholicism? Yep. Tomorrow night is a big introductory dinner. I am thrilled for him.
And, that is What is up with the Robsons this week.

Hey, you guys don't like to mix it up at all do you?
We still need to have that Catholic Eucarist conversation that Corbin so rudely interrupted by running away! :)
Ian, I've got your back buddy... no worries, I'm working for you here! If you'd move your family to Nashville it would be ALOT easier!
I now need to sit down and catch my breath after reading that! Oh my goodness, how do you do it?
Enjoy the Holidays!
