Today, I awoke to the worst head ache... a 2 Tylenol and 1 Aleve headache.. I needed Excedrin. I went back to sleep and woke up again at 11:00 and forced myself out of bed. Ian on the other hand had spent the morning "discovering" the subway... interpret that one for yourself :) I am glad I slept through his 2 hour adventure. Once I aroused my self out of bed, Ian and I decided to eat our way through Moscow by visiting all the street vendors along the way. Yum Yum! We made it into the Kremlin, which is not 1 building, but an area like castle grounds..lots of buildings, gardens and churches... surrounded by a wall. We couldn't take photos in the churches or buildings, but we could out side on the lawns. After the Kremlin, we saw the inside of St. Basil's, which I loved. And we went to Lenin's tomb, but it was closed. Not such a big deal since they are not sure if it is really him inside the tomb. After our Red Square Rendevouz, I convinced Ian to ride the Metro down to the Statue Cemetery..this is where all the unwanted statues go to die.. and Stalin was all over the place, along with many of his buddies. But there were also statues of random things and people, even Pinocchio.. It was just silly fun. We walked along the Moscow River and looked at the artwork for sale and ended up at Gorky Park where Dinia called just in time to help me order chocolate blinis (thanks Dinia!). Then back to the Metro we wandered and I fell back into bed as soon as we got to our room. I added a slide show.. yes, I went on a shoe hunt today. Ian was waiting for some one's boy friend to realize I was snapping photos.. but they have better shoes than Sara Jessica Parker. Although, I still think that the prosecutor at the trial yesterday had the best shoes I have ever seen. They were stunning. Tomorrow we are going out to Serge Passad to experience some of the Russian Heritage for Ariana. I am looking forward to Thurs, Friday and Saturday when I can see Ariana again. Sunday, I am going to hang out with some other CSS families who are arriving.
Time to rest. Hopefully I walked off what I ate during our eat-our-way-around-Moscow tour..
Paka,
Michelle
