Zoo Trip

Last night we emerged from the Robson Disease Ridden Den and took the little ones to the Zoo's Christmas Event for a couple of hours. It was surprisingly fun!

Ariana met Santa for the first time. And in Aidan's mind this was his first time too. He doesn't remember his last 2 Christmases. Aidan asked for a bike. Ariana didn't get the point. She just knew she did NOT want to sit in their lap at all. Thank goodness Mrs. Clause was there and Santa had bells on his wrist.

All the rides were free this night, so we took advantage and rode the carousel over and over and over and over.

We also rode the sky ride. It has a bar in front of you but no seat belt. I still cringe when I think of it. Only 2 people can ride in a chair, so I took Ariana. Who kept trying to jump out!!! I am not joking. When she failed to go forward, she tried to figure out how to get her legs through the space where the back and the bottom meet. She had no sense of fear or survival. It was like when she would step off the stairs and be shocked that she fell on her face from 2 steps up. And then she would do it again and again. Just not seeing it. Finally, she learned to get where she wanted to go quickly, she had to take each step. Girl has no depth perception. She is SOOO smart in so many ways. Ahead of where my boys were at her age in many areas. But where her body is in space is not her area of excellence right now.
Aidan rode the cheetah rollercoaster a couple of times and had a lot of fun.
It was so nice to get out of the house for a while. I think in 10 days, I emerged a total of 6 hours! Most of that was picking Corbin up after basketball. The rest was an emergency grocery trip (so emergency, I didn't even take coupons!).
I have many stand out memories from last week's adventure.
* Aidan's eyes dialate when he has a fever. The black almost totally engulfs the beautiful hazel.
* Collin's eyes constrict to pin points and his cheeks go red.
*Corbin had to clean up Aidan vomit twice. It was an "all hands on deck" moment.
*I slept with out sheets more than once as all my changes of sheets would be dirty and in the process of being laundered.
*Collin sleeping almost an entire day. You know a kid is sick when they just won't wake up at all.
* Ariana crying every 4-12 minutes throughout the night, literally driving me insane. There was no comforting her and I couldn't escape the noise. Of course, the next day she slept while I had to be up taking care of those who managed to ignore her the night before.
