Today I got a call from my mother and learned that while I was in the fog of starting back to school and Ian was out of town this week, my dearest friend on the face of this planet has been dealing with a horrible tragedy. I have yet to get a chance to speak to her directly. All I know is that her husband is in the ICU in a hospital in Austin. He has pneumonia and something is off with his heart from what I understand. He has been in the hospital a week and on last Monday, Alan crashed and we came very close to loosing this amazing, sweet, giving man. They need to do open heart surgery, but they cannot because of the bacterial pneumonia infection.
Alan is literally a lawer for the people. Not the kind that does it for the money. The kind that represents those who do not have enough money to pay for their own lawyers. In his private practice, he was the kind of lawyer who was constantly giving 'discounts' because his heart broke for those who were already struggling to stay afloat. He is truly a giving man.
Would anyone out there please pray for Alan's health and his family's strength. He is a young man with 3 children. If you have a prayer group, please please add him to it.
Then, go hug your spouse and your children and appreciate the blessing that you have in them! Here I am complaining about my money diet and I know we all really value our health and our family's health far far far far more than anything else there is.

Okay, it's official, I need more medication. I am teary eyed for this woman who I am aware of through a FRIEND I've never met! :) Off to pray.
That is terrible news.I will keep Alan and his family in my prayers.I will call you this week. When is a good time to call? Email me.
